Adult Cub Training (A.C.T.)

The Great Rivers Council Cub Scout Training Team would like to personally invite you to attend Adult Cub Training (A.C.T.). Adult Cub Training is for all registered Cub Scout Leaders and Cub parents, not just Den Leaders. It’s designed to enhance your ability to work with your Scouts and to understand the scouting program. Each participant will learn how to select and teach suitable handicraft ideas within the interest and abilities of all Scouts. Participants will also learn how to effectively use outdoor activities in den and pack programming. How to put some real sparkle and fun into your Scouting activities. There will be workshops and games, a conservation project, a campfire and a nondenominational church service. You will be able to meet other adult leaders, network and share ideas. Cub Scout Specific Training is offered and BALOO training will be part of this course.

The weekend’s package includes one night’s lodging, meals, cracker barrel and snacks, A.C.T. materials on a CD, neckerchief slide, neckerchief, and all workshop materials. Lodging accommodations include cabins with mattresses and electricity. There are also bathroom and shower facilities available at the camp. If you would also like an A.C.T. tshirt, there is an extra charge. There is an option of camping, and Cub Specific Training on Friday night.

All participants must bring with them a complete BSA Health History Form Parts A and B. If you have certain conditions, excessive body weight , heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure) , diabetes , seizures , lack of appropriate immunizations, asthma, allergies/anaphylaxis, muscular/skeletal injuries, or psychiatric/psychological and emotional difficulties, please have Part C of the form completed by your physician.
